Job Title: HR Manager

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum dependent on experience

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Reporting to: Finance Director

Location: Across our Iver, SL0 and London, SE15 sites and prepared to travel on occasion to our Scotland office

We are currently recruiting a self-starting HR Manager and envisage that this post will suit someone who has recently qualified through CIPD or currently studying. You will report into the Finance Director and you will develop and support the entire HR process end-to-end from recruitment and administration all the way to advising management on employee relations, retention strategies and training & development plans. You will need to be a confident HR professional who is hands on, approachable and comfortable working in a stand-alone position within an SME over various satellite sites across London, Iver and Scotland. 

You should be able to engage with our employees with ease and integrate yourself into our business so that you and the HR function are able to add real tangible value to the company both in the short and long term.


Main responsibilities

  • Generalist HR functions – employee handbook, absence management, staff inductions/ onboarding, management of the HR system (Bamboo), liaising with auditors from various bodies as required
  • Recruitment – end to end process, screening, interviewing, background/ reference checks, contract preparation and overall continuous improvement of the process
  • Training and development – apprenticeship programmes, induction process, training records, cyclical training requirements, Personal Development Plans/ Annual Review process and succession planning strategies
  • HR Competency - up-to-date knowledge of employment law, coach and collaborate with managers in dealing with employee relationship
  • Engagement – work with management to ensure integration of departments into the wider company, organise social and charitable events, staff surveys and actively engage with employees as well as being approachable
  • Communication – at all times display honesty and integrity in all dealings, coordinate companywide communications and ensure employees know the path to resolve queries relating to their employment



  • Previous experience in HR
  • Proven HR generalist experience, talent acquisition/recruitment drives
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Ability to communicate appropriately dependent on the audience – with an ability to adjust at ease to engaging with all employees



  • CIPD or equivalent professional qualification
  • Previous experience in a logistics, manufacturing or construction company (or a company who has both office and warehouse/ on the road employees)
